As a vital member of our cross-functional family services team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the academic success of children and fostering community engagement. Day in the Life of a Family Navigator: 

As a Family Navigator, your days will be dynamic and rewarding. You'll engage with families in the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood, guiding them through goal-setting and personalized achievement plans. Your role will involve enrolling families in IEPN programs, serving as their liaison with other agencies, and coordinating community awareness efforts. Collaborating closely with JBNC staff and community partners, you'll ensure families have access to a wide range of services—from preschool enrollment and parent workshops to housing opportunities and mentoring programs. Your responsibilities will also include recording and tracking families' progress, maintaining accurate records, and participating in cross-functional team meetings. Your work will not only support individual families but will also contribute to the overall success and vitality of our community.


You Would Thrive in this Position If:

- You hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social services or education.

- You have two to five years of experience in social service or educational environments.

- You excel in dynamic, collaborative settings and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

- You are bilingual, with preferred knowledge of the Near Eastside neighborhood resources and demographics.

- You are organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking and project management.

- You have the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including community partners, school staff, parents, and colleagues.

- You are proficient in using software applications and can accurately track and report data.

- You have access to personal, reliable transportation and can be flexible with your work schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

- You demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and good judgment, especially in sensitive or potentially unsafe situations.

- You prioritize confidentiality and maintain accurate record-keeping.
