We’re currently looking for a Facility Assistant to join our team for the fall season and help us keep our spaces running smoothly.

This is a hands-on, active role perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being outdoors, staying busy, and making a tangible difference every day. There’s potential for this seasonal position to become permanent depending on organizational needs and performance.

What You’ll Do

As a Facility Assistant, you'll help ensure our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming. Your days will be active and varied, and your work will be essential to our mission. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with basic maintenance, light repairs, and facility upkeep.
  • Performing routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
  • Driving to and between JBNC sites to transport supplies, tools, and donations.
  • Supporting groundskeeping efforts—removing debris, clearing snow, watering, and light landscaping.
  • Setting up and breaking down spaces for programs, events, and meetings.
  • Assisting with community service workers, escorting vendors, and helping the maintenance team as needed.
  • Participating in seasonal projects and special events.
  • Maintaining clear communication and completing documentation of your work.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who’s reliable, hardworking, and ready to learn. You don’t need to have years of experience—just the right attitude and a willingness to jump in and support the team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (not required).
  • Some experience in maintenance, custodial work, or groundskeeping is helpful.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs and working outdoors in various weather.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to getting the job done right.
