EDGE Lead Program Specialist
Overview:
Step into leadership with John Boner Neighborhood Centers as a Lead Youth Program Specialist! In this part-time leadership role, you’ll go beyond direct engagement with students to guide and support Youth Program Specialists while enhancing the success of the EDGE Afterschool Program. As the team lead, you’ll play a critical role in planning, organizing, and improving program activities while serving as the go-to person for elevated student needs and parent interactions.

A Day in the Life:
- Your day as a Lead Youth Program Specialist may include:
- Supervising varying groups of students, adapting to program needs.
- Leading both small and large group activities designed to promote growth and exploration.
- Preparing program activities in advance by reading instructions, gathering materials, and ensuring readiness.
- Managing and addressing elevated student needs, including resolving behavioral challenges using restorative practices.
- Acting as the main point of contact for parent interactions, providing clear and compassionate communication.
- Facilitating and leading opening and/or closing activities with enthusiasm and structure.
- Coordinating and guiding Youth Program Specialists to ensure program goals are met.
- Collaborating with the leadership team to identify program needs and implement improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Completion of onboarding requirements, including a Tuberculosis (TB) test, drug screening, background check, and CPR & First Aid certification.
- Prior experience in youth programming, education, or a similar role is preferred.
